Who amasses wealth and counts it - He thinks that his wealth will make him abide. Nay, he will certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster; And what will make thee realize what the crushing disaster is? It is the Fire kindled by Allah, Which rises over the hearts. Surely it is closed in on them, In extended columns." Bible; James; Chapter 3, verses 5-8: "Even so the tongue is a little member, and boaseth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of inituity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison." Holy Qur’an 16:125: Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance. Whenever the Divine Will inspires a band of righteous people to work as torch-bearers of Truth to a corrupt humanity, there never fails to appear at the same time a band of those who pitch themselves in deadly opposition to them, and inflict upon them all kinds of trouble and torture. And in truth the storm of opposition is absolutely indispensable.. The persecutions to which they are subjected serve as a crucial test of the sincerity of their motives. They unhesitatingly put up with humiliations, endure hardships and cruelties, but never for a moment give up the truth for which they stand. In fact, they live if they can, for the Truth; and die, if they must, for the Truth. Besides, afflictions constitute the only training ground for fostering virtues of steadfastness and perseverance, without which man cannot attain to moral perfection. Unless one is hemmed in on all sides by overwhelming obstacles and visited with hardships and privations, one cannot cultivate these qualities. Adversities that befall such people are in fact blessings in disguise, which conduce to their moral advancement. Over and above these, there is a third object. The Almighty God wants to bring home to mankind that a planet tended by the Divine hand, however slender it may look survives the most furious blasts of hostile winds. Consequently, in accordance with this Divine law, the Holy Prophet and his companions had to suffer untold troubles at the hands of the opponents. --From the book “Muhammad the Prophet,” by Maulana Muhammad Ali, 1993 It is important that speakers and writers about the Nation of Islam be as accurate as they possibly can to their listeners and readers, in presenting facts. Each will give an interpretation of the facts according to that by which measure facts. So it is understood that the emotional response of each of us to the facts may--or may not--color our presentation. But, we owe it to ourselves, and others, to present our views, based on the facts. The extent to which our perspective is based, or grounded, in fact, determines our ability to be accurate. Some confuse the facts with a perverted view of the facts, that those not as close to the facts are often misled. That is not only unfair, but as the public learns more and more of the facts, and the truth of the facts, these "experts" will be discredited. ... It is never necessary for anyone to be overly repugnant, hostile, offensive, aggressive, or bellicose, in presenting our respective views of the truth. Truth is our collective birth right. It is not the exclusive possession of any one of us. It is the right of the one with whom we are discussing the truth. It is that which was given to us to be shared. Minister Farrakhan is the best example of which I know, in the way of spreading the message of his teacher--that, admittedly, has difficulty factors in it; primarily due to our mental and moral condition--as he "tirelessly" works night and day, as his mentor did, for the resurrection of his people and the enlightenment of others. He does what he does out of a big heart of love. Those who seek to sway the public's attention to their view would do well to study his example. He exemplifies the principles set down in the 16th section of the 16th chpt of the Holy Qur'an, verse 125. "Call to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and argue with them in the best manner. Surely they Lord know best him who strays from His path, and He best knows those who go aright." To speak and write without having facts, or without a proper examination of the facts, is to be irresponsible. To speak in public, or to publish material, without respect for the facts; to write or speak carelessly; or with reckless and wanton abandon, about issues that involve the destiny of a whole people--who have already suffered unspeakable evils--is to reveal that he or she is unworthy of the respect of those who thirst after truth. To speak or write foolishly about the fate of America, in a manner that tickles the ears of the fickle, is to fail to grasp the magnitude and nature of the times in which we live! To communicate to the public one's distaste of the views, or teaching of another, concerning the best way to solve serious problems of Black people and this nation, by means of slander; libel; jest and ridicule, is to reveal spiritual, intellectual, and moral bankruptcy, and is to indirectly admit that your position is a complete failure and is deficient values. Black people have had a horrible time, in this land of lies; of slander; of wicked libel and all sorts--all of which springs from the worst of motives. We have been the object of mockery; of scorn; of the worst kind of invective and cannibalistic treatment. Why should we continue to pour that same pail of polluted swill on each other? Who benefits? Those of us, who would inform others--especially those who say they are Muslims--who offer to the public that which we view as best for our people, and for this country, are duty bound to (1) do our homework; (2) speak and write on what we know; (3) and when we are offering an opinion, say that it is just that. We should not pretend that an opinion is a fact. This does not mean that opinions are false. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad said that mixing up truth with falsehood was/is the policy of devils. That is 100% true, whether Black or White! ...Employing the techniques, the very methods of the enemies of their own people, to advance their views and their programs, which they claim are for the benefit of their people. This kind of evil selfishness leads to that which is worse. Some have murder in their hearts for those whose views they cannot disprove and yet oppose--even now. Some have become so infuriated; so enraged; so furious over fundamental aspects of the message of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, born witness to, by his best Minister (the Hon. Louis Farrakhan)--in a manner that is winning millions--that they will stoop to any level to discredit the Hon. Elijah Muhammad, and now the Hon. Louis Farrakhan. How far are they willing to go? Whenever one feels compelled to use underhanded methods, or force (physical violence) to either discredit the position of others, or to destroy those whom they oppose, when their underhanded ways fail, they have admitted one of two truths about themselves. They either don't have truth on their side; or it is on their side, but they lack faith and confidence in what they say they believe. This, then, degenerates into disrespect for their own professed views. This is either due to an insufficient grasp of their faith, if it is the truth, or they never had the truth or enough of the truth-in the first place. In any event, this results into feelings that their position won't win in the end. If people get into such state, and are not careful, they lose their balance. Then they might do almost anything. They may even resort to aggressive violence. Such methods against God's truth will fail today. Let us look at this from another angle. Let us look at the position of some of the detractors, who view Muslims, in the Nation of Islam, under the leadership of the Hon. Louis Farrakhan, as off base; "totally out of order"' unwitting dupes; misguided fools; or outright disbelievers, who are foolishly willing to bring down on themselves the wrath of America and the world for our imbecilic; ridiculous; backward; even retarded views and beliefs. Let's say that is so. How ought those who are convinced that we are off the right path treat us? How should those who feel, or are convinced, that they are on the right path; on lofty ground; in God's grace--how should such people treat and deal with us whom they view as grouping in the darkness of falsehood? What feelings arise in those who look upon their Brothers and Sisters, whom they feel are misguided? Are their hearts moved, for example, with the emotions of Muhammad ibn Abduallah (PBUH), who loved his people and did everything he could to save and spare those whom he sought to bring under the banner of Islam? By what criterion; by whose example; according to what pattern; with what measure will you act by and treat us? Whatever we use to evaluate others, reveals ourselves to be whatever we really are--at that time, anyway. This interaction reveals those on the right and those on the wrong path. The Holy Qur'an gives a more profound view of the mind and heart of God and the manner of His judgment in the last days of this world. He looks at whether our good deeds were heavy or not. Then He rewards us according to the best that we did. ***Those who truly believe in Him reflect, or manifest, His spirit.*** Right belief triggers, or unlocks, the flow of the spirit of God, that is within us, by reason of our being of Him. How many civil Jews and white Christians go about killing each other even though, or in spite of, the crucial differences they have with respect to the identity of the Messiah? His identity is the crucial difference between them? Will those Muslims who disagree with the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad's teachings concerning the Mahdi/Messiah/God act with at least the same degree of intelligence, civility, restraint, and moral intelligence as the wiser white people are doing-- in this modern time? Or will they do as those who murdered Dr. Khalifa? Will those who think like the murderers of Dr. Khalifa attack us-- to try to kill us, because of our faith? He was the scholar who, as far as I know, first published the fact that the Holy Qur'an was written in accordance with a special mathematical code, that revolved around the number 19. Here is the point I am making. When he first came out with what he learned, about the astounding mathematical code with which the Holy Qur'an was written, he was acclaimed through the Muslim world as a hero. This code clearly demonstrates that the Holy Qur'an could not be other than from Allah, the Supreme Being. A few years later, Dr. Khalifa came out with other discoveries, that made some look, well, not look so good-- if what he had learned and did publish-- was actually true. Instead of those others producing scholarship to disprove his positions, which they did not approve of, he was murdered! He was stabbed several times-- probably around prayer time early in the morning-- in the place of worship, according to reports. The authorities and the news media are reporting, from time to time what may be facts, about just who was responsible for his death. Dr. Khalifa's followers continue his work. They still issue a monthly bulletin, or newsletter. Their newsletter of Dec 19, 1992 contains an article by Dr. Douglass Brown, which fill almost two pages. A little over half of the article contains quotes from Malcolm's autobiography. His article is grossly misleading. That doesn't bother me at all. I only bring this article up because although it contains lies about the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, this does not mean that we who love him will jump on jets, get in tanks and bomb their place. No, the thing for us to do, in matters such as this, is to give an intelligent response. Look at how the Honorable Louis Farrakhan handles wicked assertions, both against his teacher and himself. He is the model Minister. By none of this am I suggesting that we do not have the right of self-defense, when physically attacked. Almighty God has planted that quality in all of life. Allah says in His Holy Qur'an that He will judge. He states that He best knows those who are on His path from those who go astray. "They wait for naught but that Allah should come to them in the shadows of the clouds with angels, and the matter has (already) been decided. And to Allah are (all) matters returned." --Holy Qur'an 2:210 Excerpts from the book “ This Is The One,” by Jabril Muhammad, 1990 The following appeared as a message on America Online. Date: 95-06-27 23:31:23 EDT As Salaam Alaikum, If all would at the very least, attempt to submit to Allah's admonition and guidance in His Holy Qur'an, we would no doubt, be able to hold a civilized dialogue: 16:125: Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance. What many seem to overlook, is that the core base of the Nation of Islam and the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, now represented through Minister Louis Farrakhan, is the undisputable truth that we are not living in the times of the prophets, but rather we are living in the time of the fulfillment of their symbolic lives and their prophecies. The Black man and woman of America are the fulfillment of Abraham's vision of the "children of Israel" written of in both the Holy Qur'an and Bible. The "dry bones in the valley" spoken of in the Bible's book of Ezekiel. The day of judgment has indeed arrived. The time of resurrection is now. Not some spooky concept of old decrepit bodies returning from the earth... but the mental resurrection of that sleeping giant; the original man of this earth, who has been anesthetized and wickedly ruled by the world of white supremacy for the past 6000 years. HQ 46:6-12 And when mankind are gathered together (at the Resurrection), they will be hostile to them and reject their worship (altogether)! When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say, of the Truth when it comes to them: "This is evident sorcery!" Or do they say, "He has forged it"? Say: "Had I forged it, then can ye obtain no single (blessing) for me from God. He knows best of that whereof ye talk (so glibly)! Enough is He for a witness between me and you! And He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." Say: "I am no bringer of new-fangled doctrine among the apostles, nor do I know that what will be done with me or with you. I follow but that which is revealed to me by inspiration: I am but a Warner open and clear." Say: "See ye? If (this teaching) be from God, and ye reject it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel testifies to its similarity (with earlier scriptures), and has believed while ye are arrogant, (how unjust ye are!) truly, God guides not a people unjust." The Unbelievers say of those who believe: "If (this Message) were a good thing, (such men) would have gone to it first, before us!" and seeing that they guide not themselves thereby, they will say, "This is an (old), old falsehood!" And before this, was the book of Moses as a guide and a mercy; and this Book confirms (it) in the Arabic tongue; to admonish the unjust, and as Glad Tiding to those who do right. Consider clear arguments by a witness from among the Children of Israel, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad: ..."the answer to Abraham's prayer" that he raise a Messenger from among them that he may teach the wisdom of the Book (Bible) to so many of them who do not understand the very book (Bible) in which they think they believe, but without the true knowledge or understanding of the scriptures of Moses and Jesus. Therefore, a correction must come to them in the way of true understanding of these scriptures in which their history is constantly referred to in the mentioning of the Jews and Christians through the Prophets that were sent to them. The Orthodox Muslims think this refers to Arabia and that Muhammad (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) of nearly 1,400 years ago was the one fulfilling the answer to Abraham's prayers. But if they look at it again and ponder over it, it is like their belief in thinking that Muhammad of nearly 1,400 years ago was a prophet like Moses, that Moses prophesied in Deut. 18:18 [Deut 18:18 (KJV) I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.]. But they forget that Moses was a man who was raised in the house of bondage under a king who held him and his people in bondage to him and to his false worship of God and religion. And he desired no one to interfere with his teachings, given to his slaves. His fear, according to the Holy Qur'an, was that Moses would change the religion. The Orthodox Muslims think this was fulfilled in the Meccans' opposition to Muhammad. Not so! He does not compare with the prophecy of a man like Moses, for there was no king singled out who opposed Muhammad in Mecca. There was no separation of the Arabs from any slave-masters and a destruction of the slave-masters. It was a certain class of people of science. The Meccans were not enslaved to any physical king and people--only to false belief. But remember that prophecy: "Like unto me." The man had to be one who received a revelation or guidance from Allah to physically liberate a people from the physical holding of a superior force or ruler. He must fight with this particular ruling class to release his people--like Moses. Then, he must give them their own religion, teach them the knowledge of the true God (Allah) and His true religion, Islam. And set up a completely new religious service, never known to his people before. He must overcome them with nothing but the Truth and the power and guidance of Allah as Moses did with Pharaoh and his well-armed army, because he is not in a position to are himself and his followers with carnal weapons. The enemy control the manufacture of arms. He must be one like Moses, dependent upon Allah for the victory over his enemy. Here he shows forth, in a land where Allah has not been worshipped and where Islam has not been accepted as the true religion; the power of Allah is shown by letting Allah fight his and his people's battle against their wicked oppressors. This is the true type of a man like Moses. If you study the prophecy concerning the last Messenger of God, according to the description given to the man by the Bible's prophecy in the Torah and Gospel, you will find that he is a man, according to the Psalms, with the name of "Muhammad" and also you will find him in the Revelations under the symbolic name, "Lamb." He gets the name (Praised) from the honor of the "twenty-four elders" or Islamic Scientists. The position that he is shown under, the symbolical "Lamb" in Revelations, is like the Holy Qur-an's teaching one who is illiterate and whom the people will find written down in the Torah and the Gospel. (The book of Isaiah; the parables of Jesus.) This is the man the above prayer is made for because he, as one of the Islam writers says, will be born among the infidels. The revelations of the Bible symbolically place him in the midst of "four beasts." Therefore, prayer must be made for his protection among a people without the teachings of Islam-- not a country where never had any former prophets of Allah risen and set up signs of the future greatness of Islam, as had Arabia in the time of Muhammad. The signs of the future of Islam and its last Messenger, Abraham, had already set up in the Holy City Mecca. Muhammad did not destroy these signs, but rather he repaired the sign to live until it had served its purpose. ...Many of the writers on the history of Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah) be upon him) of nearly 1,400 years ago, write that Muhammad was the first prophet that Mecca had ever seen. Even Maulana Muhammad Ali, who translated the Holy Qur-an in English, says in his footnotes on this verse that Muhammad was the first prophet that Mecca had ever seen and that he was raised among the descendants of Ishmael. How do the scholars and writers of Islam say such when, if they make Muhammad a descendant of Ishmael they are condemning their own saying that he was the first prophet of Mecca, when both Abraham and Ishmael were prophets according to the Holy Qur-an. Even the Bible and all religious people recognize Abraham as being a prophet. Therefore, Muhammad could not have been the first prophet, because the very significance of the signs that Abraham and Ishmael built in Mecca tells us much about the type of prophet and people that would be raised up in the last days. So how can they say that this revelation refers to Mecca, the Meccans and Muhammad. It reads: "Thou mayest warn a people to whom no warner has come before that they may walk aright." This condemns the very fundamental teaching of the origination of Prophets and Guides for the people coming from direction, from the East. Mecca has been a sacred place. God, Himself, has protected its sacredness ever since time immemorial. How then could this be a savage and unknown of the righteous and even and righteous warner if there were not the will of God to keep that city sacred and deserving as a sign of righteousness? Then how can the scholars say that it has not even seen a prophet or a warner from Allah? Would Abraham and Ishmael have chosen a more wicked place to set up a sign of the last warner and his people, which the Kaaba and black stone represents? The very words, "to whom no warner has come before," that they put in a book that is called the last revelation of Allah to the people could not mean Mecca. The last warner and the last people to whom prophets and the truth have never come to are the same people to whom prophets and the truth have never come to are the same people that the Bible and Holy Qur-an refer to as being blind, deaf, dumb and (mentally) dead, who must be resurrected before there can be a judgment of the wicked. No people answer this description better than the American so-called Negroes. And there is no country that better represents that description of where no prophets have been sent than America. As far back as history takes us in reference to America, we find no prophet of Allah preaching Islam or warning the people in the Western Hemisphere of a coming judgment and to submit to the will of Allah that they may be saved from the destruction of that day. It is America. The prayer of Abraham does not refer to the raising up of a prophet in Arabia, but of a prophet among that particular seed or people of his, who must be searched for, located and found, a teacher must be given to them from Allah to teach and warn them of the purpose of Allah and the purpose of the Messenger being raised among them. The Bible gives us a very clear prophecy and knowledge of this particular last messenger in many places. It is that he is the first and the last who will be among the people, because they would be the only and last people who would be without the guidance of Allah at end of the world and must be guided into the path of Allah if they are to be saved from the destruction of the enemies of Allah who had deceived and now hold that people in bondage--the true descendants of Ishmael of whom Ishmael himself was a prototype and his mother the outcast. There are many erroneous mistakes made by the scholars and scientists that have cause much misunderstanding of the truth. There are many Arabs throughout the world who cannot bear witness to anyone that another messenger would rise up after Muhammad, who was here nearly 1,400 years ago. This is due to their misunderstanding of the Holy Qur-an and the scriptures of the Prophets Abraham, Moses, Jesus and even Muhammad himself. They forget that the Bible prophesies of a lost member of the nation of the original people of the earth, who would be lost somewhere on the earth. But neither the Bible nor the Holy Qur-an specifies the place. The nearest the Bible comes to it is that they would be lost in the wilderness. That fits America. And Moses says that God him (Deut 18:18) "I will raise them up a prophet from among they brethren like unto thee and will put my words in his mouth and shall speak unto them all that I command him." This is an answer or a prophesy that compares with the prayer of Abraham--that God raised up from among them and taught him the wisdom and the book, because his people would not have knowledge of the book and were only guessing at its meaning. The book is referring to the Bible--that they were guessing at its meaning. This is true! Thousands of preachers here are preaching the Bible and do not understand the true meaning of it. They only guess at its meaning. It is not true that the Bible was being taught and preached by the Arab people before Muhammad. The Torah was used among the Jewish people but not in the vicinity of Mecca and its inhabitants. A prophet would be raised among a people and this man would be like Moses, but the Holy Qur-an and Bible do not give the direct place where this people would be. ... [The prophetic] Moses' people had not had a prophet to come to them from God before the raising up of Moses, and they did not know the scripture because Pharaoh had them worshipping in his false religion. Therefore, Moses had to preach a new God and a new religion to the Hebrews and give them a new concept of God and His religion. So shall it be with the last messenger. His people must be taught about the true God and that God's true religion which the slave-masters did not teach them. The Holy Qur'an backs up the truth of Allah, that He always raises an apostle from among a people whom He would warn. If Allah would warn America and the poor slaves who have been blinded and made deaf and the dumb by their masters, should not that messenger be one of the so-called Negroes instead of a so-called Negro trying to learn from what Muhammad said to the Arabs nearly 1,400 years ago... It does not stop there... "Warning a people whom no warner has come before that they may walk aright." It is directed at the American so-called Negroes in North America. As Jesus comes close to revealing the whereabouts of the lost members of a great nation in these words, "that he was sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel," or "in the house of Israel." He did not say that he was sent to the lost Israel, but to the lost sheep in the house Israel. The lost sheep are not Israel. The lost sheep were in the house or government of Israel and were swallowed up by the Israel so thoroughly that they were always overlooked. But we just cannot overlook the prophecy of Ezekiel wherein he prophesies that God said, "Even I will go and search for them, and I will bring them again and settle them in their own land and among their own people." This is referring to the so-called Negroes. And Isaiah says in his prophecy concerning that God said He would call them by a new name that He, Himself, would give them, one of His own names, and would take away the names of the enemy and would slay the enemy. Let us remember that we must understand the truth of prophecy, the sayings of the Holy Qur-an and Bible on this subject, and then place them where they belong and not try to fit them in some place where they do not belong. Mat 24:4-9 (KJV) And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. ...This had reference to the end of the world of the wicked. Let us take note of his words in the fourth and fifth verses: "Take heed that no man deceive you for many shall come in my name saying I am Christ and shall deceive many." This did not happen before the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans. This refers to the entire period of 2,000 years after his (Jesus) death. It is referring to the many who would come and try to imitate him and shall deceive many, especially the very ignorant people who are given to superstition, who can be easily deceived, and they will sometimes add to a leaders title whom they are not serving. ...All of this is completely out
